ALEXA CABLE CUTTER SKILL

Role: UX / Conversation Design

Agency: North Kingdom LA

As part of DIRECTV’s “Quit Cable” campaign, I worked with the UX design team at North Kingdom to develop an Alexa skill that streamlines the tedious process of quitting cable in a fun, unique way.

Simply say, “Alexa, help me quit cable”  and the skill will navigate those infamous phone trees to get you to the right cable representative. She will even coach you through the quitting process with meditative breathing and playful dialogue.

DESIGNING A CONVERSATION

Together with the development team, I worked on creating the user flows and dialogue trees for the skill, making sure to cover a myriad of use cases and making the skill as intuitive as possible. Dipping my toes into the world of voice interface design was a fun, challenging experience.

The end result is an Alexa skill that feels conversational and is both fun and practical, encouraging people to make the switch from cable.
